Why it works

Claude Code always has access to its own current documentation — whatever version you're running — so the fastest path through any settings maze is to ask the tool itself. This is the habit that makes you independent of every tutorial, including the one that taught you this. For questions about the world beyond the tool, one extra clause keeps it honest: demand a source.

How to do it

  1. Stuck on anything about the tool? Type the question into the prompt field itself.
  2. 'How do I connect GitHub here?' — it answers from current docs, not stale memory.
  3. Ask it to DO the configuration, not just explain: 'set that up for me and confirm it works.'
  4. Greyed-out button, missing menu? Describe what you see; it knows the interface.
  5. For facts about the outside world, append: 'check a current source and give me the link.'
  6. If an online tutorial contradicts the tool's own answer, trust the tool — tutorials rot.
